Welcome to writings on the way of man

Hello,
My name is Henry Akuete. I will be writing on the various phenomena, events and issues concerning the orientation of man's existence on earth. As we all know, the way of human life of earth has not been 'sweet-sweet' but rather a bitter-sweet experience. Mankind as a social and arguably intelligent species have seen its own highs and lows and it has been quite unfortunate that irrespective of the purported intelligence as superior animals, man has been extremely violent; not just to the environment around him but to his fellow man. This violent nature to his own kind led Robert Burns to comment saying "Man's inhumanity to Man". The earth has seen various wars and man made catastrophes among which it has become fair to say the nuclear arms race is the race of mankind to self-annihilation. Man in his evolution has acheived some commendable feats but in that progress has been the attendant production of weapons of mass destruction; the atomic or hydrogen bomb to which Ronert Oppenheimer famously commented on while recalling a quote from the Bhagavad Gita : "If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the mighty one." and "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." In due course there shall be weekly posts containing writings and reflections on the existence of life on earth- the path of mankind. Thanks.
